Filing Alert: Weaber Chapter 11
Weaber Files Chapter 11 in Middle District of Pennsylvania
Weaber, Inc., a Lebanon, PA-based hardwood lumber manufacturer, filed for Chapter 11 protection on Aug. 1 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
The filing follows a July WARN notice disclosing plans to lay off 145 workers at Weaber’s South Lebanon Township distribution center between late August and early September, citing housing market pressures, high mortgage rates, and economic uncertainty. In June, the company also announced plans to shutter its ChoiceWood subsidiary in Crawford County, affecting 46 employees, with the closure set for Aug. 25 to Sept. 8.
The company reports $10 million to $50 million in both assets and liabilities. The filing indicates that there will be funds available for distribution to unsecured creditors. The case number is 25-02167.
